Our School

Head of School's Welcome

As Head of School at Sheringham High, I am delighted to welcome you to our website. It is a privilege to be leading our wonderful school community through the next stage of its development.

As a Synergy Trust school, our ethos is that we are ‘Stronger Together’, with key values of Inclusivity, Collaboration and Ambition. These values shape every decision we make. Our curriculum is designed to be ambitious for all students, so that whatever their start points, they have the opportunity to achieve their personal goals and gain the qualifications which will enable them to take their next steps confidently.

We are immensely proud of our students and the outstanding work ethic and attitudes to learning which they display. Students enjoy their lessons and achieve excellent results in examinations. In summer 2024 GCSE pass rates were significantly above local and national averages * and at A-Level, one in six students achieved Norfolk Scholar status (grades ABB or better or grades AA plus one other).

We believe close collaboration between home and school is key to student success. We strive to keep parents and carers well-informed and to provide open channels of communication. Our student management team is skilled in supporting students through their transition from childhood to adulthood, underpinned by our innovative behaviour and culture programme, which fosters resilience and emotional intelligence. We insist on high standards of conduct from all our students and we expect them to treat each other, our staff and visitors with kindness and respect.

During Ofsted’s 2023 visit, inspectors praised our ambitious curriculum, calm and orderly learning environment, high expectations and diverse extracurricular programme. We are particularly proud of their recognition of our inclusive approach to students with SEND and the strong focus on students' mental and emotional well-being.

I hope that, as you look through the website, it gives you a flavour of the many strengths of our school and the warm, welcoming nature of our staff and students. If you have any questions or would like to see the school in action, please contact our school office and we will be delighted to arrange a visit.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
